Corrugated Crates for Shipping
Corrugated Crates & Containers
Corrugated fiberboard, or combined board, has two main components; the linerboard and the medium bonded together by adhesives. Both are made from a heavy paper called containerboard. Linerboard is the flat facing that adheres to the medium. The medium is a wavy paper called a flute that is found between the linerboards. Corrugated is a durable, versatile and lightweight material used for custom-manufactured shipping containers. We use as a minimum 350 lb double wall corrugated fiberboard which is made up of three sheets of linerboard with two mediums or flutes in between when building custom corrugated boxes.
Corrugated Shipping Crates
Our custom crates are easily disassembled for disposal. We manufacture them to the standards of ISTA for shipping by common carrier, ocean or air. The Craters & Freighters corrugated crate system can save you money over standard wooden crates in several ways:
- Lighter than wood so they will save on freight cost.
- In many cases, they may be reusable.
- For international ocean shipping we line the box with a barrier bag system. This corrugated crate is more than acceptable for ocean freight.
- The interior of each box is lined on all sides with one inch bead board for additional protection of your items.
When shipping estate items, such as china and other fragile items, we use special packaging materials. Each piece is individually wrapped and placed in boxes with bubble wrap and Styrofoam peanuts. The boxes are then combined in one master corrugated crate for additional protection.
We use a special industrial machine that is called a box maker that provides our clients with clean cuts and straight sides that adds to the strength of your corrugated box.
